How do you start learning to hack today? Free resources, of course.

Being a 13-year information technology and cybersecurity professional, I understand information overload and not spending money to get started.

So let’s get started today in three easy steps with the learning platform, TryHackMe.

Step 1 - Confirm Email Address

Chances are you already have a valid email address. Check to make sure you have access to it. If you do, move on to step 2.

If you don’t, that’s ok. Sign up at Google, it will make the next step easier.

Step 2 - Sign up at TryHackMe

Browse to TryHackMe and create an account.

If you are signed into an existing google account, the process is a bit smoother.

It will prompt you for your experience level and why you want to learn.

Step 3 - Start Learning to Hack - Today

Finally, it will present you with a recommended learning path.

Choose one and get started. It’s that easy. You don’t even need your own system. You could do this from a library.

Now on your path, you may run into some locked content, and that’s expected. The creators of this website put a lot of work into getting this together for all their users.

If $10 will break the bank, there are still tons of free rooms for you to try out. I’ll show you below how to find all of them in one place.

Bonus Tip - Finding Free Rooms

Finding all the free rooms is super easy:

Go to the Learn landing page from wherever you are.
Click the Search tab.
Change the Show field dropdown to Free Only.
Choose any of the 433 (yes, that number is accurate as of today) free activities that TryHackme has to offer on their platform.
